2007 Smooth Photo Contest Judge Smooth Fox Terriers - Judge: Claire Hoffman  In the eighteen years since my first Smooth wandered into my life, I have had the tremendous fortune to have mentors who have raised me up in this sport to compete evenly with them. Western Fox Terrier Breeders Association is the best club any newbie dog enthusiast could have hoped to join into. My Smooths have earned titles in Conformation, Earthdog and Obedience competition. I have bred 16 litters of Smooth puppies which have so far, produced twenty-one champions, total; there are others which are "pointed" and some too young to show yet! I have traveled to specialty shows in different parts of the us, supporting many regional specialties, the American Fox Terrier Club and the Smooth Fox Terrier Association of America. I also have had the good fortune to make friends with some of Australian, England, Finland and Canada's finest Fox Terrier fanciers during farther travels. I remain forever indebted to the support of Mrs. Jan Braithwaite-Campbell, Melbourne Australia and entrusting me with my foundation bitch, Australian / American CH Mansevale Madeira Mydear Dam of Distinction, aka "Connie". As a science teacher of 23 years, I can honestly say I love people, puzzles and learning... I view my efforts in breeding, studying, rearing, training and exhibiting Smooths as another, richer, academic pursuit... and I am in it for life!
